The Civil Service Examination or known as career service examination, is a exam developed and produced by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to determine those who are fit for a government job. Passing the CSE is required for everyone who wants a job in the government if you are not belong to the list of exempted or already considered as eligible. You can take your exam through two (2) ways by your choice you can exam through Computerized Examination (CSC-COMEX) or the most common Paper and Pencil Test (CSE-PPT).
There are two types of Civil Service Examination those are Professional level and the Subprofessional level. Higher salary grades in the government usually require CSE Professional Eligibility, so everyone is encouraged to take it instead of the Subprofessional exam. Of course, the Professional Level exam is relatively harder compared to the Subprofessional exam.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has officially announced the schedule of Computerized Examination (COMEX) for 2020 First Semester (February to May 2020). Please refer to the following information from the CSC COMEX Advisory No. 01, s. 2020.

NOTE: The number of slots available for online reservations is very limited. Slots may be taken and filled up in a matter of minutes. We strongly encourage those who were able to reserve a slot and later decide not to pursue taking the test to cancel their reservation online in order for others to be able to take the slot.
The availability of online reservations for the CSC Regional Offices (CSC ROs) shall include only CSC ROs joining the scheduled date of examination.
Examination slots for the CSC Regional Offices shall include only the CSCROs joining the scheduled date of examination. Applicants or registrants are strongly advised to check the Testing Center and Personal Appearance Venue indicated in the Examination Schedule before making a reservation.

• Reserve an examination slot

HOW TO USE COMEX
1. First Time COMEX User

• Fill out completely the online Registration Form
• Submit the form by clicking the “Submit” button
• Check your email account for the system confirmation email (Note: The system confirmation email may be found in the SPAM folder)
• Activate your COMEX user account by clicking the activation link provided by the system confirmation email (Note: Successful activation shall redirect you to the COMEX website)
• Log in to the COMEX System using your username and password.
• Click the “Examination Schedules” tab
• Reserve an examination slot
2. With Existing COMEX Account
• Log in to the COMEX System using your username and password.• Click the “Examination Schedules” tab

COMEX EXAMINATION FEE
Total fee for COMEX is P680, examination fee is P600.00 and the digital information service fee is P80.00.COMEX EXAMINATION COVERAGE
Test forms used in the PPT and the COMEX are equivalent in terms of level of difficulty. Also, both the PPT and the COMEX contained the same number of test questions and have the same time limit.
